Founder of Anchor of Hope Charities

Judy Kendall, Founder

In 2007 we established Anchor of Hope Charities as a 501(c) 3 charitable organization and from our first visit to Zambia in 2007, our goal has been to support each child’s education so that they can grow up and take care of themselves.

Our work from 2007 to 2009 was in support of 248 children attending a rural school located in Keembe, Zambia. We raised funds to build a dormitory, home to 30 orphaned children in the area. We purchased beds, tables, linens and blankets. We provided solar power. We supported a school building and provided desks and school supplies. We offered seeds and tools for planting crops, and chickens and goats for a pay-it-forward program. We funded teachers’ salaries and secondary school boarding fees, medicines and medical supplies, and a vehicle allowing community members to get to critical healthcare. We developed strong relationships and learned to work as a team with the locals, together committed to making a lasting impact on each child’s education and well-being.

Over the course of twelve and a half years, we have provided

1,600,988 meals

clean water for 8,000 people

educational programs for 45,000 children

mother/baby vitamins

1,000,000 pairs of new shoes

Our logistics, partnerships, team members and infrastructure are in place allowing us to implement programs and measure results with the help of 180 volunteers in Zambia.

We invite you to discover Zambia and be a part of changing, even saving, the lives of children.
